Economics or Finance?

I'm unsure of the key differences between the two, which doesn't help my decision making.
Which one is harder?
Which one is more respected?

Or perhaps I should take a general business a-level? I'm so unsure. HELP!

Economics is more respected by Unis and I believe is a little more Essay based if you like that then go for it.
I'm currently doing Economics. It's far more respected and recognised by Universities however it can be perceived as difficult at times. Business a level is deemed a "soft" subject and top Universities don't prefer it and even find it laughable. What course are you planning on taking at University?

I'm currently doing a GCSE in Business, in which I'm an 'A*'. My Maths is a grade 'C', is the economics course more mathematical based or business based? My Maths ability is poor in comparison to my business ability.

With only a grade 'C' in GCSE Maths, will I struggle to calculate the figures?

I'm prepared to take economics as it's more respected, I'm just worried I may not achieve a good grade.

Looking at the bigger picture, those with economics degrees usually earn a higher salary than those with a general business degree?

Thank you for your help.
