i am a little scared but also v v v excited i went up there today to have another look around and it's still as good as i remember. has anyone recieved their freshers pack from castle yet??
I'm not so worried, probably because I'm a local and am already very familiar with the city. It's making new friends which i find daunting, although everyone's in the same boat !

Yes, I think I'd be less frightened if I were going millions of miles away. But just going up the road...that actually makes it worse.
It's something along those lines... you go into Durham Cathedral in your academic dress and hear speeches or something. And then a rep from each college officially registers all the newbies? I think?
Yeah you do, it's on the Wednesday morning of Freshers week. Everybody plods down in gowns or suits and there's a speech by the vice-chancellor. Then we went back and got bacon sandwiches. It was fun.

Well, that was Mildert only I'm afraid but I'm sure your college will do something similar. Anyway, the cathedral is relatively nearr subway/greggs so you can go get one of those.
