Blur, by a huge margin. Created some of the best songs ever written (Coffee and TV, Tender, Song 2, Beetlebum). Compare Coxon and Albarn's solo stuff to Ashcroft's. No contest.

I agree Ashcroft's solo stuff isn't up to scratch (tho I like Aschroft's latest album), but I do think The Verve's better than Blur. Ashcroft has a better voice than Albarn.
Blur by a country mile. They had a sense of humour.

Blur. I agree with all the reasons put forward already in the thread. They have much better tunes, lyrics and have character; also, the solo projects that came after are just in a different league to Richard Ashcroft's boring, repetitive albums.

Also, Blur had Graham Coxon, probably the sexiest man in the world.

Your third option is pretty stupid. I know you're probably only joking, but "question my sexuality", oh, that's so hilarious.
Blur, even though I accidentally chose The Verve :frown: D'oh!

I like them both equally, they are both great in their own ways.

Blur - Country house, Parklife, Girls & Boys and a few others remind me of School and good days.

Verve - Drugs Don't Work, Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky man. remind me of other things.

Love them both.

Can't believe them songs were like 1995 sort of time.. Wow...

The Verve's early albums were fantastic.

Blur have had some great songs, but have never had a good consistent album.
Never was really that big into Blur despite owning 3 of their albums, was always more of an Oasis man, the Verve do give me a fair bit of nostalgia, Urban Hymns kind of reminds me of growing up and stuff.

hmmm but Blur have some choooones, I wanna go for both

Kind of agree with that, Blur have a fantastic greatest hits but they have a hell of a lot of filler on their albums

In most cases I'd agree, but Parklife is consistently great.
I'll have to go with blur on this as well. Only heard a few tracks from both of em but blur are excellent.

Blur: Girls & Boys, Coffee & TV and Parklife are brilliant songs
Verve: Only heard bittersweet sympohony but i wanna get urban hymns though

You should definitely get urban hymns, it's awesome.
The Verve are good, but a bit morbidly depressing

I never listened to much of both, but of what I heard, I much preferred Blur. The Verve were okay, but they are one of those I just don't 'get'.
toughie but blur
verve are a more serious band, Blur more fun and scratchy...unfair to comapre the two really.
