losing weight with a bad back

I fractured two of my vertabra a few months ago and bascially while I was inactive I've put on weight especially on my stomach. I just wondered if anyone knew of any excercises that will mainly concentrate on my stomach area that I could do which wouldn't be to hard on my back as it's still quite painful. I find sit ups pretty hard to do.

Thanks

you cants spot reduce fat and so situps wouldnt be much use. im not sure if theres any cardio you can do without moving your back in any potentialy strenus (sp?) way.
can you walk comfortably?

It would be expensive, but you'd be best either going to a physiotherapist or a personal trainer and asking for specific exercises to do.

The knowledgeable Yahooey agrees. Abs are built in the kitchen. 90% of havin a good body is catering your diet for your body's specific requirements. If you want to burn fat and tone your stomach up then you need to be in a caloric deficit of 500-1000 calories per day.

Remember, exercise only burns an additional 10-15% of calories on top of your BMR. Think, how many hours a day can you realistically be exercising?

The knowledgeable Yahooey says sort your diet out and then worry about gentle exercise until your body becomes used to it again.

My diet is already sorted and yes I can walk comfortably although it aches after a while. The main problem I have is sitting down. Getting a personal trainer is not really an option 'cos I don't have the money
