What was the outcome?

What would you say the prospects are, given your knowledge/experience?

Has it got anyone into F/O?

Hi,

Well I left after 2 modules; quite poorly taught, the course and assessments were marred by bad guidance and explanation.

I think it's going to be hard to get FO from this place, one of the reasons I left.

Where are you now, if you don't mind me asking?

It's a fairly unknown institution, to be honest. I haven't heard anyone in B/O let alone F/O from ifs.

Hi, I have been accepted to study at IFS University in London City. I am wondering if anyone has studied there before and can tell me what the place is like ? How the lecturers and tutors are ? What the facilities are like ? What the overall experience was ? Thanks

Hi, I have been trading for the past 3 years self employed. Made decent money from it, more than the minimum wage, but I feel its time to get a degree educate myself further and try for a job for a firm as a trader, portfolio manager etc.

I have offers from BPP and IFS however not sure which one to go to. Tried for City Uni but didn't get the grades to get in. So im stuck with BPP and IFS. Both have great courses but not sure about the facilities ? And are they recognized degrees ?

it would be really difficult to get into trading with degrees from those uni's imo.

there's no-one that I know on the trading floor at the firm im interning at with degrees from those unis.

Hey, my name is Ryan and I am in my second year at the London Institute of Banking and Finance, LIBF (previously known as the IFS university College London, same university, just a better name). I've been studying the Banking Practice and Management Course (BPM) and I've found it very interesting. The great thing about the LIBF is that it is a specialist university focusing on Financial services, and being right in the city of London there are a wealth of opportunities that can lead to internships.*Along with this, is the fact that mentors in financial services are available on a one to one basis, and lectures and seminars are smaller providing a more intimate and personal experience with people who have been in the industry a long time. Whilst I*am sure other universities offer good courses and experiences, the LIBF is*focused solely on Finance, Banking and Investment, aimed at giving students a better edge. *

Just looking around the university made me feel better about it, it's small and feels like 6th form still. I know people want to typically get away from that but I've enjoyed my 6th form experience in terms of socializing. Plus on top of all that i thought about the student debt and realized that it wont effect you by much wether you get a decent job or not it comes out ur pay packet and it just means at the end of the day i've got more oppertunitys to become more skilled.

Wether im going uni or not who knows, still looking into apprenticeships but so unis weighting up good.
