message - "I lykd u - i thot u were quite hot. Wil txt u pic 2moz i have jst finished work n dont feel v pretty! lol x tb"

Is someone playing games or is this person genuine do you reckon? It would not be completely abnormal for me to give a girl in a bar my number (well, OK, it would be perfectly normal of me).

And I am male, they gave a female name.

I'd be freaked out if i got that, you sure you didn't swap numbers with someone while you was drunk? or maybe someone is playing games.

Reply 3

Why are you even that bothered? Wait until tomorrow and see if a pic appears, if not forget it. I'd forget it anyway to be honest.

it sounds very vague, as though it could have been sent to anyone. you'll have to wait and see i guess.

Only you know to be honest, the text seems genuine thoe perhaps giving this person a call sometime might help you know. My trick for this is calling the number on private number.
But surely you would remember, if you was that drunk you probablly wouldn't even know your own number after all

I wouldn't even trust the pic they send. I'd be very careful. Texting can sometimes be quite a dodgy form of communication.

Hmmm I dunno, just see if she sends a pic and if you recognise it, then take it from there I guess.

Why don't you just phone the number and find out if they're real?

The logical Yahooey reckons it's likely to be a wind up, considering he's getting one of his other friends whose number his best mate doesn't have to do this very thing to his best mate at the moment.

The logical Yahooey has spoken.

Not really bothered, just curious.

It could be a joke...a friend and I decided to play a joke along those lines with a friend of ours. The girl doing the prank didn't really reveal much info except for the fact that they had met at a pub a couple of nights ago (although we hadn't been to a pub). It went on for a while and then she finally revealed that it was just a mean prank on the poor guy.

Perhaps its the same for you?

see if a pic turns up and if not forget it, if you get any more texts I would just ignore them, but that is more because I can't stand text speak than anything else! It could just be a friend taking the piss, but surely you have their numbers in your phone? Actually, I have just decided I would text but not meet up with the person, because thats when I would start thinking it was my friends being weird

Definitely sounds like a wind-up. A friend did that to another male he didn't like as a joke, and kept it running for about a year, occasionally asking the guy questions about his relationship with this girl while we were in school.

Can't believe he fell for it really.
