Symptoms include aching muscles, high fever, vomitting, diarrhea, dizziness etc. Apparantly the symptoms come on quite quickly.

I really wouldnt worry, its probably just a coincidence. If you really are worried, see your GP so they can check you over.

TSS is very rare, other symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea and muscle ache. If you don't feel up to going out (well its a sunday anyway so no surgerys open) give NHS direct a call and see what they say, you could also read this http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/sexual_health/girls/tss.html
sorry adverse_reaction, didnt mean to repeat half your post!

Also it says (in the little booklet you get with tampons) that it can quickly progress to something more serious. any idea how long that takes, as in would it be ok to wait until tomorrow to see if im feeling any better and if not go to the doctors then...or will that be too late (i first got the fever and sore throat last night)

I wouldn't have a clue as I am not a doctor,if you call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 they can tell you if you should get an emergency doctor/go to the hospital, or reccommend some pain killers for you. As TSS is so rare its probable that you are just having a bit of the flu.
