not getting wet down there..

for as long as I can remember I have never been wet enough before sex for my boyfriend to enter me, this goes for the 2 other guys I have slept with to. We have used lube, but it makes me really itchy afterwards. The problem is not that I am too tight, but even with lube/spit it still takes a lot of work to get going, and sometimes I get a bit cut and sore for a few days so we don't do anything for about a week. My boyfriend is fine about it, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas/suggestions? I have also been on the pill for 3 years, could this do anything to alter stuff like getting wet? I dont know what I would be like if I wasn't on the pill because I went on it for heavy periods when I was 14. thanks:smile:
The pill can change things like that, I think, although I'm no expert. :p: Spit!? Use lube. If the lube you're using makes you itchy, use another one - you're meant to use water-based lube rather than oil-based, as far as I know. KY Jelly is the often quoted example of one you should use. Maybe you're just allergic or sensitive to something in the particular brand you're using. Other than that... I have no suggestions really, just use more lube, it sounds like you might be using too little.

Someone back me up on this, I'm not an expert in this department. :p:

KY makes me feel really itchy like I have cystitis, we have used loads of brands, even the super expensive one from ann summers, and we have experimented with amounts too, nevermind, we still always get there in the end.. I guess I should ask about the pill thing next time I go to the doctors
Im in exactly the same situation as you, also i get sore and itchy after quite alot of sex which leaves me sore for a week,i was on the pill for 2 years but ive recently come of for a few months for a break and im still having the same problems..
Yeah it sounds like asking the doctor is your best option here xxx

it might have something to do with the pill.. i had the same problem when I first went on it but didn't think that was the cause. I had to change to a different one about a year later and since then I haven't experienced any dryness or soreness. I did ask my doctor about it when I first noticed it but she wasn't much help as it depends entirely on your body. The pill might not be the cause but it's worth a try if nothing else has helped!

it might be because you're not getting wet enough up there. metaphorically speaking.
I'm having the exact same problem, though I tend to get wet about 10 mins after we've finished. I thought it might have something to do with the pill... which one are you on?

If lube is itching you, why not just use condoms? That was our solution.

we have tried with condoms and it doesn't make any difference, with or without lube. I am on microgynon 30, have been for about 5 years

Another possibility is something along the lines of thrush, a yeast infection. Being on the pill can alter your hormone levels to the extent that it changes the environment of the vagina allowing yeast (which lives there at low levels normally) to multiply. This can cause itchiness and soreness and a few other symptoms. It is also made worse by sexual intercourse which can inflame the tissue still further...

Not entirely sure on the lubrication issue but whatever the answer try asking your doctor. Self-diagnosis is never the safe bet
