Medjool actually but if you taste them you may see what I mean.

In supermarkets they cost about 5 times as much as the sticky sugary standard issue stuff, but ...
Fresh dates belong to the fruits most rich in sugar and vitamins in the world. And sugars from dates become actively available in your body very rapidly – they are absorbed into the blood stream even faster than pure glucose, energising without delay or effort.

Dates provide several essential nutrients such as calcium, fibre, amino acids, sulfur, iron, manganese, magnesium, phosphorous, copper, potassium and fats to the body. They are wonderful sources of dietary fibre and are rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 and B5. They are also low in calories (one date has 23 calories) and are cholesterol free.

No wonder date palms were in the holy and royal temple courts in old time.

Only the idea ... as a replacement for factory produced confectionery for people wanting to enjoy better quality & quantity of life.
