PhD in Political Economy in the US

Dear all,

I have just finished by BA in Philosophy and Economics, and would like to focus for my PhD on International or Comparative Political Economy.

Does anyone have any experience with the various PhD options for that course of study in the US? After a few days of research it seems to me that only some Political Science PhD programs lend themselves to further concentrating on Political Economy. E.g., judging from the profiles of current students, MIT and Princeton Political Science PhDs have much more Political economy focus than Yale or Columbia (and Michigan and Berkeley have none).
Also, the Harvard "Political Economy and Government" program seems much more quanitative („minimum two semesters of calculus, including multivariable calculus“) than above Political Science programs?
Anyone any advice as to how all these programs compare?

Many thanks in advance!
