i have tonsilitis.... :frown:

how long will it last for? im going to the doctors tomorrow to get some antibiotics

Aw, poor you. Tonsilitis is horrid.

Once you've got antibiotics, it usually clears up in about a week. :]

Guess depends how severe it is, but as Elusive said with any luck it should go within a week.

Is it -

a) Acute tonsillitis; b) Recurrent tonsillitis or c) Chronic tonsillitis?

I don't know. but its the 1st time iv had it.
a week?! thats a long time for me to be on liquids only!!

Mine lasted about 2 weeks from first symptoms, to total recovery...

It's so awful and so painful and I did two Grades 8 while I had it, including voice...

Try gargling with salty water. That helps...

Just come back from the doctors- turns out i have glandular fever as well. iv got penicillin for me tonsils and industrial strength painkillers!! looks like im going to be out of action for the next few weeks...it had better clear up before uni thoug- how awful would that be- having to miss the start of my uni lif, or being so tired i cant go out....
