Ice Breaker

i was just wondering what people are gonna use as ice breakers with their flat/room mates on the 23rd.
i know some people were gonna get teabags, someone mentioned beer... i was going to buy some chocolates from work and leave them with little notes for my flatmates because i'll probably miss them as will literally pop in, get my keys and go back home...
was just curious about what other people are doing.

The leaving chocolates idea isn't that good imo, whats to stop the first person to get there after you taking them all, or just taking the note and giving them to the others as "theirs" ?

Hmm ice breaker *think* probably just leave my door open haha not gonna be on campus the first night anyway

Pfft I like the sound of the chocs idea lol..Especially as your not gonna be there the first night..Nice gesture anyhow..
Im thinking of just leaving my door open...being about generally..seeing if anyone needs a hand moving in and have the beers and the tea on the go.
Though, im gonna have my parents and my g.f around moving my stuff in, so im prob not gonna have a very eventfull sat night..most likely my freshers drinking will begin sunday :P

well i intend to put them in individual cute little boxes with the room number on and put them out on the kitchen counter before i leave.
was also considering putting a little gift tag on each one with a note saying something along the lines of "helloooo there flatmate. i am an alien from the planet chubacca and although the item in this box may look like a tasty harrods chocolate, it is actually my turd."
well.. not really.. but a gift tag on each one will make it more of a chore having to remove each one.

Doesn't solve the problem of someone swiping them all and handing them out while you're gone :p:

well it could then work out to determine that you have a real plank in your flat?
I doubt anyone's going to be that much of a pikey, not on the first day anyway.

Umm dakota thats *******s. I doubt anyone would be at that espically on the first day, looking at the worst in people is not an ideal view imo.

Though in honesty i think it would be better to give them to your flatmates yourself as basically your going to be living with them for the next year and one day out of the first day will not really affect your freindlyness or anything else.

I dont know anyone who used ICE Breakers last year on the first day. On The sunday there was a kitchen get together for everyone in chapman.

LOL The chocolate theives!!! People are not going to be stealing in Uni!! There may be the odd incident, but you have to have a positive attitude. Its a trust thing!! Thats my mentality anyways.
well nobody else but TakingOutTheGash has mentioned what they'll be using...

Try not to panic too much about Ice Breaking, go with the flow, and keep an open mind. Have a chat with your housemates, and find out what they are studying and what they like to do for fun. Then youll will find the ones you like, and the ones you dont!!
but i want to like everyone! and want everyone to like me!
actually; does anyone have any idea how many rooms there are in hadham flats? im #12, so im guessing theres more than that? i need to give them an order from before.
