Physio? Music lesson? You volunteer for something/someone?

Good luck with the therapy :hugs:

Physio sounds good.

Aye, or say you have to do something special for college. As a friend of mine got to go out of lots of lessons for student Union and stuff like that.

Just say you have to do something like that.

Phsyio doesn't last forever either so if your therapy did stop then it would all fit together....

How long does the therapy last? Music lesson sounds like good cover if you play an instrument.

My bus was late... :dontknow:. I've never been good with excuses.

Lol, erm... Physio would seem like a very good excuse. An even better one would be volunteer work, just say you work for this local Nursing Home and you have to help out at that certain time on the Tuesday. :dontknow:

Driving lessons? Ongoing dentists work? Singing/dancing lessons? Football practice?

i feel very anxious in many situations, and i feel im goin mad. How do you go about getting therapy of such a kind without anyone knowing? and how bad is your anxiety?

I would say physio is the one you should go with , it's also a therapy but I don't think people would judge you for having physio as its a physical thing.

I respect that you don't want everyone to know but if you make close friends it might be an idea to tell them.

Good Luck

The problem with saying you voluteer for something or doing something means that people may enquire about whatever that thing is such as "How did you get involved with...", "What do you do at ...", "Where is ..." "Could I voluteer" etc etc and you will find you have to make up a web of lies which won't help you make friends should you be "found out"

I think physio would be a good excuse but you will have to get it sorted what your injury is and how you did it in case people ask.

I agree you should be honest with close friends though.

Just some kind of medical thing. Be vague and nonchalant

As long as the therapy isn't at the college itself you can say anything.

Say you have to look after a niece/nephew/cousin/sibling as no other family member are available at that time or something. The more boring it is, the easier it is to keep up and less likely people will keep asking stuff.

Half an hour, and the doctors is quite a way away from college. Music lessons is a good idea, but then people might think I'm not taking the course seriously.

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably tell people that I'm seeing a doctor about something I don't really want to talk about, but that it isn't contagious, and thank people for asking so they don't think I'm being rude.

It's 'normal' to worry you're going mad if you have anxiety. The way I talk myself out of the fear of having psychosis, is the fact that when my anxiety goes away I feel a lot less strange. That wouldn't happen if I really were insane, and I'd imagine it's the same for you.
You can be referred to a therapist by seeing a doctor. Nobody has to know, not even your parents; the doctor and your therapist won't tell anyone.

My anxiety is pretty bad; I have Depersonalisation disorder, which makes me feel as if what is happening isn't really happening. I am perfectly aware that it is, I just feel as if it isn't. I had it chronically for about four months but recently I've only been getting it 10% of the time, when I'm feeling particularly anxious.
