Seeing as there was a South thread I thought I'd start a Court one! Wasn't my first choice, an honour which goes to Colum, but bar the huge dent in my loan I'm happy enough. I'll be living in House 2, Fourth Floor Flat 4J, Room 25. Hoping to move in on the Friday so I'm not the last (or first!) one from my flat to arrive!
I've also got a question that any previous occupants should be able to answer for me - what exactly is the layout? How many flats are there per floor for example? I'm confused about how the flat and room numbering works.
Any other computer science or engineering/maths students looking forward to a similar trek to lectures? I've heard conflicting reports on how long it actually takes to walk, but I've heard anything from 15 to 30 minutes so it isn't too bad I suppose. Free exercise!
Hey there. Got my accommodation finally! I'm in Talybont Court and even though it is ridiculously more expensive than the other accommodation, I think I'm gonna stick with it. I also had Colum down as my first choice; I guess it was never meant to be! I'm in house 3, ground floor, flat 0?? something or other. It should be good, lots of new(ish) rooms, and in the heart of where the majority of people are living.
My friend (now current housemate) lived there last year! In that flat! That's kind of cool. Hope they left it in good condition for you! And I hope all the 'quirky' problems have been sorted out for you guys this year, last year it all sounded a bit like a disaster. My friend had to have her carpet dried out due to the water leak which descended like 3 floors. And she also had nails sticking out from her ceiling which were decidedly scary! It's all fun fun fun there
Just incase anyone else was interested in the layout, according to someone on uni village House 1 flats are lettered A-H, House 2 I-M or something like that. Apparently the laundry and reception are in House 1 too.
By the way I seriously recommend going on uni village and signing up - theres lots of people from Cardiff and especially living in Court on there. One of my future flatmates got in contact today.
i was jus wonderin since i havent actualli been to see the halls.. are the rooms a decent size? ie..hopefully not too cramped and small? i hope i have a nice room
My humble abode for the next year or so is indeed in Talybont Court, House 2, Flat 4G. Though I have never actually been there (Talybont Court I mean) so have no idea whatsoever as to what to expect really.

Ah well. Who doesn't love a surprise?
Exactly, lets just hope its a good suprise!!
I'm House 2, Flat 4J so presumably we're on the same floor! I don't know if you're signed up on the website uni village, but one of your future flatmates is on there.
Either the wednesday evening or the thursday morning, depending on whether my parents want me to see, and therefore stay the night, with their old friend that they are staying with when the drop me off.
You've dared now.. be prepared! Lol. Erm, Drum 'n' Bass, Bassline/Funky House, UK Grime, Hip-Hop, Arabic Chillout, Northern Soul... the list goes on. I doubt that's gonna be to your liking.. or perhaps anyone's?! What about you?
