i contacted the security ppl last yr about bringing a car up for the weekend, and after i think itd 5.30pm on friday and till 8.30am on monday (not too sure on times) you can park on campus with a guest permit. Its worth just giving them a quik email they were v helpful for me.

The car park at the swimming pool is useful if you've just got someone staying overnight (especially overnight on Saturday, as Sunday parking is free). Not especially close but quite probably mopre convenient that Sainsburys and possibly cheaper than getting a pass off security. (Not sure about a weekend pass, but a week pass was £10 when I last got one.)

Or of course you can have them say that they're picking you up so they get let into car park 7 and then try their luck with the clampers. (Guy I was in halls with in 2004 managed to park on campus for an entire term with no problems, but I hear that they've cracked down on it since then.)
thanks guys, ive got the number will give it a ring tommorow
hmmm, they said they wont let my "family" park overnight so i guess campus is out of the question

nowhere else?!

Swimming pool is pay and display right next to campus (up by the union), so that's probably your best bet.

I went to visit my boyfriend several times last year and each time just told security I was picking him up and I got a guest pass and stayed in the car park near his halls for the whole weekend. no problem!!!!

I think it's very unlikely that you get clamped but I'm not sure really! First time I went up dented and scratched my car on a post and second time got a speeding ticket on the motorway! So I guess I paid the price in another way!

He said that I could always park in the LUSAD car park as no one uses it at the weekend?
