once again, you've got the facts wrong. cambridge aren't designing a new qualification, they're stating which A-levels they will accept for certain courses.
you have a serious problem in raeding something somewhere, assuming it to be true and not shifting your position upon seeing the facts. i'll repeat what i said earlier: show me one shred of evidence to back up any of your claims.

this is the problem. you're pointing out waht is assumed to be true and are often things that aren't true. they're assumptions which help the right wing blame many groups in society so the true culprits get hidden.
look at the stats, open up your eyes, and see that a lot of what you believe is actually untrue.

i'm not denying this. but do you even know what the word causality means? these people are in poverty, are in deprived areas, where education isn't as good. all of these factors, plus a zillion others, will contribute to crime..not just..single parent = criminal child. god, you are way too deterministic.
i'll say it again - CRIME HAS BEEN FALLING. AND IT'S FALL HAS COINCIDED WITH ECONOMIC RECOVERY, THE NEW DEAL, TAX CREDITS, LIFTING PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY, BETTER EDUCATION, REDUCING URBAN DECAY etc etc.
and it's all happened under labour - crime soared under the tories, with their botched economy of boom and bust, sky high unemployment, urban decay and not really giving a **** about the poor. you're suggesting we do this all over again, which will increase crime.

well, you've kinda proved the point here. there are probably (although you haven't shown any evidence, as usual) fewer poorer intelligent people at uni.
reasons? poor education in the area they live so they never developed fully? well, that's one reason why labour's throwing money at them..so how is that not helping?
that;s why numbers of students at uni from poorer backgrounds has gone up..so how has that not helped?
i personally believe that the clique of oxbridge still prefer students from richer, private schooling backgrounds though, which could be another factor.

what exactly are you trying to prove? we all know there is a geographical divide and i said this last time
people from poorer, working class background will naturally vote for the party that actually cares about them and the party that their trade union is affiliated with
people from richer backgrounds are naturally gonna vote for the party their big business is affiliated with.
of course this is simplisitc, but it is a tendency im talking about.

Nearly all people who are in the bottom fifth of society are there because they do not have sufficient school qualifications, mainly caused by their inability to take school seriously. I am pretty confident that there are a lot of people in this country sick to death of having to prop them up at our expense!

well, i wouldnt call them my beloved government because i'm at odds with them on a lot of policies but still prefer them to the crap we had under the tories.
and this is another place where you're blatently wrong. why do you try to debate something you're not even clued up on?
firstly, the british crime survey isn't even produced by the government..so it's not a government stat. secondly, it's methodology and definitions are unchanged, so that doesn't stand either. crime has fallen. i studied criminal psychology at a-level - i really doubt you're going to win this point.

they dont even assess how many school children obtained GCSE passes in the main core subjects, because if they did it would be bloody awful. If they did a chart simply for maths, english and science i think it'd show the true reflection of the rubbish education here.

erm, as far as i know, this has never existed for individual subjects. but english, maths and science pass rates have also gone up..hardly bloody awful.

but this is the problem. you see someone doing something somewhere and assume it to be a universal truth. you have eyes but never use them to see what is the best measure to assess what's happening..statistics, science, facts.
anecdotal evidence you see in day-to-day life perishes in comparison to this. god...you should know a thing or two about scientific methods.
and regarding terrorists, you bitched about immigration and linked it to terrorists..suggesting the terrorists we've had were immigrants. well, actually, they were british-born and raised.
