Academic progression
Hi.
I should be starting an International Relations and Politics course at Salford in two weeks time, but i've read a number of disheartening reviews which claim Salford has a reputation of roughness (which is not so much of a concern - i'm used to that now) and more importantly that academic progression, after a degree has been recieved, is somewhat limited.
Could anybody who has qualified from the University possibly give me some opinion on this? I was hoping to continue on to an Intelligence and Security MA and thereafter the Navy, I wouldn't want to find myself bogged down because employers don't consider Salford to be of any decent repute..
Personally, from what i've seen, the University looks fantastic, and I do hope thats not just very good marketing.

im not sure..but i am on my 2nd year doing a similar course contemp history and politics..
salford has a very good rep for its hist, pol...type courses...indeed many students from the military have used salford to further there education..
dont worry about roughness...it is actually fine...there are rough places at alot of uni's...for salford it isnt a mjor factor

Salford usualy does pretty well when it comes to employment statistics and since its been a university since 1967 the MOD type places will recgonise it.
