I am a pianist and I would really like to gain access to the music rooms This means a lot to me, thanks!
They have music practice rooms in some accommodation. Which accommodation are you staying in? I know that Castle Leazes has music practice rooms but I'd imagine they'd get quite busy and it might be hard to get them.
I will be at Turner Court OMG thanks so much, hearing that from you... cos I heard that only music students can gain access to the music rooms ;_; I play the piano everyday for hours ; won't give that up >< wait, you aren't a music student right?

You should definitely find a room! Although, I'm not sure but I think it's only the bigger student halls (like Castle Leazes) that have practice rooms. Saying that, I went on a summer school at UCL and was staying in smaller halls and they had practice rooms so it might be the same at Newcastle. If it's in the student accommodation then it's for everyone.
I am a music student haha I get the privilege of having 24/7 practice rooms for music students only... Do you play classical? What are you going to study? Nice to meet a fellow piano obsessive! I play the piano everyday for hours too, nice to know I'm not the only one!
What... so the music rooms in Castle Leazes are for music students only??
Yea I play classical and I am gonna study biomedical sciences
Nice to meet you
No, if there's music rooms in student accommodation then it'll be for everyone! It's just as a music student, I have access to the music department practice rooms 24/7 which are only for music students.
Nice to meet you too, I also play classical! Let's be honest, there's nobody cooler than us classical pianists...
Really hope that Turner COurt has its own music rooms (though I doubt...) then can I go to the music rooms at other accommodations? lets say, yours? are the rooms always full?

yea what pieces r you currently playing?
It might, I hope it does anyway - can't have a fellow pianist deprived of a piano! I don't think that you can use other accommodation's music rooms but I'm sure there'll be somewhere you can practice because there'll be lots of non-music students who play instruments. I don't know about how full they are but I would imagine they would get quite busy.
What about getting an electric piano/keyboard for your accommodation?
I'm working on a Beethoven sonata and a Bach prelude just now. What about you?
ARGHHH piano rooms for me pls *finger crossed* any concerts for non-music students to participate in?
Mozart sonata in a minor... Bach P&F
Not sure to be honest but I'm sure there will be opportunities to perform. If you played an orchestral instrument then you could join the Newcastle University Symphony Orchestra - they're doing Britten's War Requiem this season.
Ah nice! Is that the Mozart one that opens with theme and variations?
