Complainers.

Just something I've wondered for a while...why do fat/over weight people complain about it all the time and do nothing about it, if they're not actually ill of course. It's juts irritating and not something I can understand- if I got fat I'd sort it out, unless it's something you can't do anything about like illness....

Any inputs??

I don't know many fat people that complain about it.

But if they did... I'd agree with you.

Well they do try by dieting and cutting out on junk food, the thing I don't get though is why they don't seem to try exersising, just dieting is hardly going to get rid of much fat.

Precisely- we do this about everything especially things like the weather!

I think the OP is making a sweeping generalisation though about people and one that certainly has no validity whatsoever. Sure some people that are overweight may complain but many others are actually fine about being overweight. There are also people that complain about being too thin despite 'eating loads'.

The people I know that complain about being too big are the ones trying to do something about it.

I think it's a bit of a generalisation...I do know one girl who fits the OP's stereotype and yes, she is really annoying. The reason she does it is that she's usually fishing for compliments or reassurance in her delusions when she says things about her size; she wants you to say "oh, stop talking nonsense, of course you're not fat. And I think that top looks lovely on you."

The people I know who've been fat and done something about it have usually gone about it quietly and modestly.

would you like some cheese with that whine?

Reply 8

I wouldn't say that many complained i think they just ask oh am i overweight for example, i haven't actually seen many people bothered by it.

Ditto.

Bit of an generalisation, OP.

Because sitting at the computer with a 12 pack of Wotsits and complaining is a lot easier than having a plate of green veg and going for a run.

Be sympathetic. It's hard being fat, and it's hard losing weight. Of course they'll complain.

I dont understand what would motivate someone to start a thread like this. Although I believe the OP would like to see an arguement between a person of size 24 and of 8. This would obviously lead to rediculous fatso bashing which many people would take great pleasure in. What a nice world. If it is just blind curiosity then I dont know any fat people who complain about their weight. So there. Ner ner ner ner ner. Happy now?

They complain because they get stuck in a vicious circle. Imagine the weight creeps up on you, first your clothes start to get a little tighter next you know your entire wardrobe doesn't fit - don't dismiss this, it happens all too often. So it's caught you out, but now what...

Exercise? But you don't feel emotionally/physically able to exercise. Being overweight and feeling down means you don't feel like exercising, you want to - but your brain says no. Maybe you do a little exercise, but by now your general fitness may have fallen and your joints begin to cause you pain under the extra weight/strain placed upon them, so your body says no.

Then you have the looks, the stares, the taunts and in the case of this thread the people who judge you, and that ladies and gentlemen, is the final nail in the coffin.

Thank you timharvey!!

To everyone else it just must be my schools then! My first secondary school there were about 5 and in my second one my GOD EVERY fat girl just went ON AND ON about it- I just never understood, and was just wondering if anyone knew why- I can see what you're saying law:tongue:ortal.

There was this one girl who'd come in with her fat hanging over her jeans (could be avoided by wearing clothes that fit it's DISGUSTING) and a t-shirt over the bulge, saying do I look fat today- I mean MY GOD do people not have eyes?!

There are so many girls like that, if I got fat I'd sort it, pronto!

My sister makes excuses to me that the steroidal medicine her boyfriend is on is why he's fat.

Personally I would rather blame the ice cream, fried foods, cheesy stuff and all the other sugary, fatty, calorie laden food he eats.
