When does your first installment of student loan arrive in ur bank account?!

Heya, just wondering when the first installment of your loan gets put in your bank?? As im moving to halls 24th september, and i kinda need my loan straight away to live off for freshers week! as i dont receive my final wage packet from my old job until the last friday of the month (which is the following friday). I need to check as otherwise i will have to take out another loan from the bank of my mum n dad!! hehe. if anyone knows it would be much appreciated! cheers xx

As far as i know you wont recieve your loan until a couple of days after your enrollment :smile:

This is to show SLC that you're actually going to be attending the Uni.

yes that's right, you get it after u register so that they know you are actually going to your uni.

Mine took between 3 and 5 days last year so it wsnt too bad. I know i have to enrol on the 21st this year so am expecting to see it on the monday/Tuesday after. I'm currently selling all my worldy possesions to get through freshers week lol

It tells you the date your loan will be available - but like people have said, you normally won't get it until a few days after matriculation (which will be a good few days after moving into halls).

It really does suck. I suggest you try to borrow money from someone (and pay them back as soon as the loan comes through), or if you have a student account (which you should!) use your overdraft.
