I think she has a problem...

My friend has always liked drinking and we have always joked about her alwasy being drunk and being a pisshead when we are out and stuff. But when she drinks (very often) she doesnt jst have a couple of drinks, She nearly always drinks until she is sick. Once she even crashed her car because I think she was drink driving.
I havent been hanging out with that lot of friends as much as I used to, recently, but the other night we all went to a club together and yet again she was drinking, saying she had had a bottle of wine before we had even gone out. (I had done the same thing the week previously so I didnt really think of it as wierd) but then she was drinking loads. relatively early on in the night she went and was sick in the toilets. But as soon as she came out she was like "urghhh i feel so sober, i need another drink" and went and carried on drinking really heavily. then towads the end of the night she ran off to the toilets again (to be sick) and me and another friend followed her. The doors of the toilets in the club are really low so you can see over them and i looked over to find her in a slump like being sick on herslef a little bit, after managing to get into the toilet with her i was trying to get her up when she grabbed the bottle of alcopop i think it was, she had in her hand, tried to drink from it and when she realised it was empty she threw it really violently to the floor and started shouting about needing another drink and feeling too sober. I told her boyfriend not to let her drink anymore, but she still ended up having another couple before the bar closed.
Someone tell me this isnt normal? or am I just shocked because I haven't seen her for a while and wasn't used to it anymore.
I'm a bit worried and am not sure what to do!
Unfortunatly this is quite normal in today's culture of binge drinking, she needs help and like now, she cannot keep drinking like this, her body has already taken a massive punishment and her liver can't be in good shape, before much longer she will lose friends and even her boyfriend, spell it out to her that she needs to stop.

Obviously the hardest part is admitting she has a problem, but if she don't stop she could seriously end up with a charge of drink driving or even GBH.

Sounds like she has a problem or maybe this was a one off. If your not that close to her try talking to her best friend see if she/he always acts like this. But in my eyes she is not normal.

Your friend is an alcoholic. She needs to seek help.
If she's saying she needs another drink because she "feels too sober" and gets angry when she doesn't have another drink available, it sounds like a problem. And if she's drink driving you really need to do something about it not just for her sake but for the sake of anyone she might harm.

I think in her position I probably would've kept drinking too, but unfortunately for me, no matter how hammered I get I can't be sick. It's been, like 3 years since I've been sick, and I'll usually drink 10-15 double vodka and cokes when I go out, often more if it's an all day session. Occasionally I'll even try and make myself puke when I get home because I have to be up early for work or something and I know I'll feel better, but I have so little of a gag reflex that I can't even puke with my fingers down my throat.

Anyway, it might just be her age. The less experience you have with drinking, the more difficult it is to moderate yourself anf know your limits.

How long has she been drinking?

I'm not saying there's nothing wrong with her, because it sounds like there is, especially with the anger and whatnot, but some people do just throw up quite easily. One of my friends ends up being sick every time we go out, whereas I never do even though I generally drink a lot more.

So, drinking until she is sick may not necessarily be a sign of being an alcoholic. Getting angry when the bottle was empty sounds worrying though, as does drink driving.

That's actually quite scary :s

I don't think thats normal but until she realises theres a problem I'm not sure theres a whole lot anyone can do.
