How many pairs of shoes should you bring to university?

I'm starting university in just over a month and I am planning on bringing 12 pairs of shoes. I can't help but feel this is excessive, though I'm really hoping other people have done the same?

I have 20+. A girl can never have too many shoes. Take out the books if you have to.

I took 3 pairs going out shoes, one pair of smart shoes, two pairs trainers, one pair of sandals, one pair of flip flops, two pairs of boots, pair of pumps and one pair of day heels.

Plus don't forget the slippers (although they don't really count as shoes!)

Just take what you will wear - nothing worse than needing a pair to match an outfit and not having them!
