I really want to do Russia but my teacher says it depends how well we do on the other units. Thank you

I didnt actually find Russia as interesting as i thought i would but its not that hard once you get into it
I'm doing Britain, Migration and Empire and USA. Right now I'm really not finding the democracy stuff very interesting at all. I loved the National 5 course but so far it's just lodes of information that's a little boring to me but I think that's because the nat 5 course was really fast paced and you didn't learn in a lot of detail.

I did Higher History last year and covered Migration and Empire, Britain, Italy and Germany. I found them all very interesting apart from the Italian unit which was mindnumbly boring. You'll enjoy Britain! Good luck!

Hi  I was wondering if you had any example essays/introductions for Women (Britain)? My teacher set it for hw over Easter but we didn't spend a lot of time in class on it. Any help would be appreciated

The question is "How important were the activities of the women’s suffrage movement in the decision to grant women the vote?"
Hi  I'm doing: Crusades, Medieval Britain and the Protestant Reformation

I've loved all my topics because I just love history in general. I think history essays are the only essays that I enjoy across all my subjects. Anyone doing AH History next year bc I am hehe!

Hey, I did my extended essay on this. I can send it to you if you like? I realise the holidays are almost over (sorry!). I got a really good mark in it but it's VERY long (4100 words)
how are people remembering their essay plans and managing the essay time? (old higher)

Here you go, I've cut out a couple of paras that you definitely don't need. My question was different so my LOA will be completely different to what you're going for. (I argues that the impact of the war on women receiving the vote has been exaggerated.) There will also be way too much historiography for a normal essay and of course far too long! It'll also be in a different order than you need, put the suffrage movement para first etc but it will hopefully help a bit

Thanks so much
I really hope that one of the essays for USA isn't the causes of the Great Depression because I find it so difficult to understand and remember compared to the other essays.

I've actually done quite well with my revision as I've revised all my essays and paper 2 I just need to keep practicing now.

How is everyone's revision going?

History is my first exam so I'm revising that now. But, I'm not really sure how to go about actually revising, so what is everyone's techniques?

(shoutout to chippedcups - n5 buddy - we seemed to do same subjects last year hehe)

I'm doing Migration and Empire, Britain and the USA.

Britain and the USA are achievable and semi-interesting whilst Migration and Empire is horrendous.

Personally, for revision I learn the sub-headings for the essays, and then learn KU. Therefore, if the essay questions are horrendous then I at least know an outline.
For example, in my Prelim only one of the questions I done came up and I didn't recognise it, so wrote and made up some stuff on "Why Liberals?" and managed to get 15.

Give it a try.
Im doing (Old Higher) Scottish Wars of Independence - Paper 2
Germany and Britain - Paper 1
For revision i often make essay plans and get together which themes go with which essay.

However ive been really struggling with " How Liberals " and sometimes " Why Liberals " questions in my British topic :frown:

I find mindmaps really useful
And I struggle most with learning the KU so use flashcards and test myself with those.

I find "Why Liberals" reasonably easy now - You need to separate it into 4 parts (Reports of B+R, Municipal Socialism, Boer War (Fitness) and Changing Attitudes to Poverty). From that, you need to know 2 maybe 3 statistics of points of KU for each, then analysis comes with that.

Just seen "old higher", don't know if any of this is relevant:frown:
