Ok, so I've enrolled at my college and my induction is next Wednesday.
The original plan was to study english literature, history, film studies and photography.
It's now:
English lit
History
Film studies
Philosophy

I wanted to study classical civilisation however, the course was full. I'm not keen at all on philosophy, I like the topic but I'm not sure if its something I want to do! I want to be a teacher, most likely history but with film studies, I already have one 'weak' subject. The other courses I could do are maths (terrible idea, I'm atrocious. God knows how I passed) geography (Haven't done this since year 8, was a easy subject at the time) RS (Sadly its only focusing on Islamic studies, I want to study a mixture) and media BTEC or Sports BTEC. Won't that look too weak? For a university? I want to do Sports possibly as I loved it at GCSE but I'm unsure whether my choices of:
English Lit
History
Film
Sports BTEC
Are weak. Thanks.

English lit
History
Film studies
Philosophy

these options are fine...English Lit, History and Philosophy are all well respected Alevels.
Film studies would be the softer one. I also thought photography was considered a soft subject too...

Don't do philosophy if you have any doubt that you'd enjoy it! I tried to do this with biology and just power on but I couldn't as I found it so dull and was completely unmotivated to do any work. Your soft subject is balanced out by History and English Lit which are very strong traditional subjects. I would say perhaps instead of picking the best of a bad bunch just do film, history and english and concentrate all your energy on those three instead of a fourth you don't care about.

I really wouldn't mind doing sports at all! But I worry it won't equate for much when it comes to Uni. I was told to do Philosophy because the teacher believes I see the world in a 'Special way'
