Rank Maths Modules By DifficultyWatch
I finished AS level standard maths with M1, I am now going into A2 with it but I am picking up AS FM with FP1, S1 and S2. I am finding FP1 fairly tricky but I think I can handle it.
1) M1 was definitely the hardest last year compared to C1&2. How much of a step up is M2?
2) How do the stats modules compare to the mechanics modules?
3) How hard is FP1 compared to mechanics?
I got 293/300 last year.
C2: 2 - like C1, but I get a calculator
C3: 7 - big jump in algebra from AS
C4: 8 - loads of integration
M1: 5 - draw diagrams
M2: 7 - harder M1
S1: 4 - not all that hard, just like gcse really
S2: 6 - depends on how good you are at hypothesis testing
FP1: 4 - Would get the same as C1 as it is a very small unit but because everything is brand new,mid say it's a little harder.
As you can probably guess, I'm a fan of pure maths.

C1/C2 are really easy, both in terms of learning and exam wise.
C3 is easier to learn than C4 for most of the topics, but C3 exams are harder. ( I self taught the core stuff)
FP1 seems quite easy as well, and exams aren't too bad either
M1 is quite easy to learn if you have the right teacher/can visualise everything. M2 is slightly harder to learn, but i would say M2 exams are easier than M1.
S1 was so ridiculously easy, i could have died of boredom doing it. I didn't even revise for it properly(!) I haven't done S2 though, i did D1 instead, which is quite easy to learn (and i kind of enjoyed it!) but this year's exam was something else!
Hope that helps!
