Break into spontaneous dance, then after she's done swooning, bend down on one knee and whisper softly, "I want to let you have my 'D'".

Talk about how all humans have the secret desire to become secret caliphs of ISIS and be able to crip walk in a graveyard.

depends ...how long had you been talking? What do you do when conversation gets stale with your friends?

If you have been conversing for a good 3 or 4 hours, there is nothing wrong with calling time on the date, or even suggesting you go for a walk, actually I had one date where the walk after what I considered the orginal date, was better. It also usually sparks more conversation, one of you will see something, make a comment, and the conversation will begin again.

If you have been talking for half an hour and you have run out of things to say ...maybe you should consider how dating this person long term will be.

Provided that you've both already talked about work, future prospects, hobbies, TV, music, films, books(stories and novels) , politics and general flirting and banter about each other's looks, fashion sense and sexual preference, I suggest you call it a day.

(This could apply to friends or your partner)

Human beings are not designed to sit talking to each other for ages for no purpose. Don't worry about it.

Thank you
Also, there can be good silences and bad silences. Peaceful silence is good but if it's awkward you might want to rethink your approach.
