my dad used to work across the road from QMUL and apparently their is a carpark a short distance from the uni (but its very expensive).

you can park your car there after you have unloaded your stuff from the tempory parking QMUL provides.

i woudnt surgest parking your car in the flats area or in the buissness car park. cos it is mile end lol. people will get P****d of and slit your tyres. apparently thats happened a few times to students who park in the wrong places

So QM will provide some sort of temporary parking on the saturday? i don't think my parents want to stay long, but if they do, there's an expensive carpark across the road?

thanks jubjub x

On move in day you will be able to park in the village to unload your stuff. On saturdays you are also able to park in resident bays on side roads, i.e. bancroft road....all the residential streets have controlled parking Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, so your weekend will be fine. And tell them not to worry about driving in mile end, its nothing like central london, although lots of unlicenced drivers!

I'm flying over then probably taking the tube from heathrow. I'll be arriving at late night so I don't know if I should take the risk of trying to find the campus at night. Might stay and wait till sunrise on the 17th before I go.

I went to visit the campus recently and, for those in Lindop House, there is a little street by the side and behind the accomm. It is, however, used mainly for loading for the health centre and builders' yard behind, so be prepared to ship out quickly if asked to move.

So on the 16th, how is everyone getting there from the north? my parents are hopefully driving me, but is there anywhere to park or any other issues i should know about by now? my mother is going rather crazy because she hates driving in london, but i've said that it may be the only way without having to haul-ass all of my life on the Tube.

i drove to london to see my aunt who lives caross the road from the uni and i was fine, so im sure you're mum, whos an experienced driver will be fine

there are plenty of roads around mile end where they have a pay and display system. also after 6 i think it is, parking in them areas is free.

When we went for the open day we drove around mile end for 3 hours looking to park.. eventually parked in the leisure centre - we asked and she said we were not allowed but no one checks so it's ok :P

my dad took me up their today to show me where to park in preparation for the 16th and the roads surrounding mile end were empty, must be becuase its a weekend. also becuase its the weekend you can park in the residences only parking places, which hugely increases the amount of parking places.

so i doubt anyone will have trouble parking

im in intercollecwhatever halls. will that make my freshers rubbish? should i bother travelling down for whatever events are on>? and if I do then how safe is the tube etc that timein the evening.

my boyfriend lives just off mile end road, the drive into london is v.simple. not sure about parking near your uni but if you can drive in off the M11 the A12 takes you straight there. just mind the speed cameras
