tourists adore it here. i suppose coz its a tropical island, beaches within an hour in any direction, u can swim anywhere u want more or less. weather's great, our idea of winter is under 20 degrees celcius (about 2 weeks a year) n even then there's always bright sunshine. n its a tiny tiny place, everyone seems 2 kno everyone else (if they aren't related by marriage or sth like that) :smile:

just called, they finally told me I've been given a twin room in Southwell.

due to my dad's wonderful gift of a surname at the end of the bloody alphabet i have just recieved news that i'll be going to SH too. twin room, self catered see you all there! only 15 days left!

PS anyone else got a letter saying there'll be a boat cruise on the 30th cos i was planning on goin to the mingle. if i have to choose i think i'll go with the cruise

Yup there is indeed a boat cruise on the Saturday- mosey over to the Southwell website and check out the events page for more info/pictures.

I'm thinking there'll be enough opportunities to mingle with the thousands of other undergrads and the boat trip sounds like a great opportunity to find out who you all are!

(P.S. If I see a crazy ginger guy with a wooden leg i'll know it's you Mr Caretaker :biggrin:

I got a twin room in southwell. (i actually had twin room as my first choice, haha)

I'm so excited!! Can't wait to meet everyone.

I've never been to london before actually. At least not at an age I can remember. Are you guys all internationals too?

yeah and the boat cruise is free! i know, im a cheapskate but hey im a student so its excusable!

ps dont knock the wooden leg, it breaks easily. :tumble:

I've got a single room at Southwell, really can't wait to go now. I'm studying Chemical Engineering. From the practice I've had from my previous school I'm sure I'll frequently frequent the pool and table football tables :smile:

Ok i feel stupid for asking that now that you explain...

Anyways, If i need to send myself something before I leave, and we dont get our rooms untill we arrive, then should I just send it to southwell under my name? It should be ok right. Because Im only allowed 20 kg baggage. and thats not as much as it sounds, considering the empty baggage weighs like 3.

post at southwell is sorted according to your name, you never need to put your room number on there anyway.
