Nasty text messages

I had been texting off a spare phone to a friend who's number I had forgotten to change. I wondered why he hadn't replied but thought nothing of it. Some of these messages were rather personal which I didn't want anyone to know about.

I received a text last night saying "Who is this sorry cant remember" - I know it wasn't him due to the lack of punctuation.

I replied "Its (my name)! Lol. This is my spare phone"

They replied "(My name) where from"

I replied "This (my friends name)?"

They replied "W**ker*

I was annoyed cos obviously this person knows who I am and it could be someone I fell out with 2 years ago (more their fault than mine). I text my friend about the misunderstanding and what this person has said, he said he had got rid of the phone. I am a bit annoyed as I hinted I wanted to know who it was. If it was my friend all along it wouldn't bother me. I rang the person this morning just to hear a voice and have a feeling it was someone I fell out with. Just don't know what to do and don't like the fact my friend didn't say who had got the phone now.
