A2 Edexcel Biology coursework

I have been putting this off all summer and finally have to face it, working out what i'm doing for my coursework :frown:
This year we have to basically pick a biological investigation & carry it out, but it has to have some sort of significance (e.g. we did a practice one where we investigated a maggots response to light as they are used for medical purposes cleaning wounds so light could potentially make them do it faster ect.) & I have no idea what to do, i'm looking for a really simple Idea & any suggestions please!!

The easiest ones to look out would be observational studies, so ones where you don't have to physically manipulate the IV but you observe it in a real life scenario and objectively record the DV. Mine was kind of similar where I measured increasing distance from an ants nest and recorded leaf damage. But don't forget you'd have to take into account abiotic/extraneous variables.
