Trauma to the elbow

Just wanting a bit of advice really my fellow TSR'ers. Yesterday I banged my elbow on a concrete path, I kinda put a fair bit of my weight onto my elbow as it hit the curb.

Subsequently, I have a few grazes on my arm (aka superficial damage), but just below the elbow joint on the forearm, I believe its the Ulna bone I have a little raised lump. It does not really hurt when I press the lump but its quite solid, the elbow aches a tiny bit occasionally, but no real pain.

Therefore, I am just wondering whether its worth going to my GP to ask for an x-ray. But then again I dont really want to waste my time or my GP's time if the lump is just purely a swelling due to the trauma or whether it could be a minor fracture to the area.
I can move the elbow fine, and it does not hurt to move, occasional stinging/aches but that could be due to the grazes or muscular damage. The lump is hard to touch but does not hurt when touched or pressed.

Just wondering whether its just superficial damage, or whether the symptoms described point to any damage to the bone and hence, whether I should bother getting an x-ray to the area.

...I'm sure most of you are thinking, why not get an x-ray to be sure, but I am going on holiday in a few days, so I only really want to get one if I know its definitely damage to the bone of the Ulna and therefore needs further treatment. I hope my description of the condition is clear enough to get some advice

Thanks

It's only broken if it's pointing in the wrong direction.

If it were me, I'd probably leave it for a week or so and see how things go.

I did that once it turned out to be swelling and went down in a few days. However your elbow has loads of nerves close together if you have hurt yourself bad then you might have damaged these and thats why it does hurt much. I would say give it a few days and if nothing has changed its not swelling and you should see GP.

P.S Dont know much about medical stuff.

Not true at all, i know someone who broke their elbow and went aronud for about 2 days before going to hospital and requiring surgery. Id reccomend you see your GP.

It was a joke. A bitter joke from someone who has broken 7 bones pretty badly on 3 separate occasions.

sounds to me like you could have fluid build up of some kind. If its not sore to move I doubt its broken, from one who knows how sore breaks are. But Go and see your GP, they will know what the best course of treatment is.

Well I know its not broken because its not painful or swollen. It just aches/stings very occasionally.

I am just hoping that its not something like a fracture. I am just more curious as to what could be causing the small bump. I mean, its solid to touch, would fluid build up be that hard?
