Considering deferring... at 21 years old

Got a question.

I was considering going to Uni this year however I'm having thoughts about deferring till next year. Trouble is I'm 21 now and would 22 if I did. Do you think there'd be an issue with making friends because of the age gap, with most people going to Uni at 18 years old?

My friend said that most people are 18 so I'd struggle to make friends and that if I leave it too late I'll find it harder to fit in.

Would appreciate any thoughts.

There are people of all ages at university and people are nothing like as judgemental about age once they stop being schoolchildren. You will be fine.
