When to take the pill

I have just gone onto the pill form the doctor...
I have started it as soon as i got it, and i know that if u take it and its not on the 1st day of ur period then u have to take it for 7 days for it to take affect.
Well, when do i stop taking the pill over the month. In each packet there is 22 tablets....
Please could u explain when i take them, and when i dont..

I don't quite know what you're on about lol but I just take the packet, remember the day I stop them on and then a week later, start taking the next packet on the same day as the day you finished the previous packet
That was a bit wordy!

If say you stop the packet on Friday and then by friday a week later your period hasn't finished, you still start taking the next packet regardless
... if that makes sense!

ok , so i just ignore when my period is .. and take 22 tablets (one everyday) then leave it 7 days, and then take the next pack of 22.. yeh?

You take the 22 pills, have a 7 day break and in that 7 days, you should get a withdrawal bleed (a sort of fake period), after 7 days you start the next pack of 22 pills, whether you're still having your fake period or not. If you take the whole pack correctly, you should be protected during the 7 day break.

You shouldnt have a period while you're taking the 22 pills but you might get a bit of breakthrough bleeding.

you have 22....? my packs only have 21 in them...
yeah, u take them til the end of the pack...leave it for seven days and then start the pill again regardless of whether your period has finished or not (unlikely since it takes three or four days after you stop taking them for your period to come).

if you miss one you must keep taking them for seven days after even if that continues to the next pack...you just carry on and finish the pack...

if you want to skip a period you finish onepack and go stright to the next without any break...

if you follow these rules you'll stya protected!
