Retaking a2's sucess stories?

i missed my firm offer and am still apprehensive of attending my insurance place.
i want to improve my grades and apply again this september, but ppl that i've talked to have said its really hard to improve grades/ its a big jump to go from BBC to AAA at least. Any counterexamples?

I went from DDEE as i missed quite a lot of time through illness to ABB at a-level. I studied Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.
