What's in your daily university bag?

What do you need to take to lectures with you? Would it just be the general like paper, pens etc or do you need to carry textbooks with you?
Ill be commuting and don't really know what I should be taking on a daily basis.
So, current uni students, list the contents of your bag!!

Realistically, you won't need your textbooks at uni, as if you wanted to do extra reading you'd do that at home and make notes?
Besides that, my bag just had purse, water and general things really.
Hope this helps

I commuted to uni and all I took was a pukka pad and a pen
sometimes I took my netbook if I wanted to type my notes but that was hardly ever!

During term time, I just move all of my handbag stuff over to my backpack, so there's an assortment of a few medicines, hairbrush, spare carrier bags, tissues, scissors, deodorant, umbrella etc etc in the front and side pockets.
The rest of my bag consists of
my roll binder, where I write up and keep my notes and handouts
my personal organiser
phone and ipod (sometimes + chargers)
bottle of water
pencil case I rarely open but sometimes I need to. One of my side pockets has like 7 pens in it but at least once a week my pen runs out mid lecture, so the pencil case is my super back up
library books to and from the library are often included. I don't have textbooks because my course just isn't the type to have a textbook.

I'm planning on taking written notes, but is it handy to have a laptop in your bag? It's just that my accommodation is situated in a student village which is about a five-ten minute walk from the main campus, so I'm not exactly keen on going back and forth to grab things!

Depends what I'm going to, but I always have a notepad, pens and my diary/planner. Then the extra stuff like a bottle of water, gum, my iPod, money for cups of coffee
A lot of people take iPads or laptops, so that may be something you want to do. Your lecturers will tell you if you need to be bringing books with you

All sorts of rubbish...
Purse, a lovely selection of pens, pencils, paintbrushes etc, spare pencil leads, scalpel, scalpel blades, tweezers, glue, paper, tracing paper... bits of change, stamps, measuring tape, ruler, scale ruler, keys, diary, juice, sketchbook, camera, SD cards and pen drive... Probably also whatever I'm reading and bits and pieces of my work. Maybe even my little drawing tube!
But definitely not what your 'standard' student would carry around. Oh the joys of studying architecture

I'll be commuting to uni and am planning on taking notebooks, pens, dairy, usual bag stuff (phone, purse, keys). I'll be commuting in my car so I'm thinking I'll probably put secondary reading books in there too in case I need them.

Paper, pens, highlighters, water/caffeine drink, mints, wipes, antibacterial, tissues, sometimes a book for the bus (I'm nearly an hour there and back), mobile phone, purse, charger, sometimes laptop for notes, and make up bag. DEODORANT as well! Ooooh - basic pain relief! Always good if you get a sudden headache that won't leave.

A4 pad of paper
Printed off lecture powerpoints for the day
Pack of multi-coloured biros (I like to colour-code my extra notes) and highlighters
Student ID
Phone/Purse/MP3/the usual
Emergency paracetamol
Sometimes I'll take some sweets with me as well, because they're pretty good for lecture boredom also!
