masculinity

It has been said that girls have a very clear perception of how masculine a guy is in terms of the way he acts etc and this is why girls often fancy guys who are not the best looking or have the best personalities but simply have more testosterone. They also have an almost contempt for guys who they view as weak and form a strong affection for guys who ignore them slightly and act as they are better than them personality traits conferred by high levels of testosterone in the womb along with self-centered ness. Ladies, is this true, does a guy becoe more attractive if he acts as if he is better than you etc or is this stupid

yes the best way to get a girl is to be a aggresive and punch her in the face and then make her wipe her unworthy blood off of your superior hand

Well, let's just say he can't be a weakling. Some girls enjoy being submissive in relationship whilst others prefer dominance but I think most still likes to be equal nowadays. I suppose a testerone-boosted guy does cause a lot of physical attraction but unless they can pull it off (and few can), it's usually the sweet guys that get me going aw.

thats not masculinity, that sounds like male with insecurities who wants to try and give himself some idea of self-importance by showing his physical superiority to an easy target, a female

I do agree that masculinity is an attractive quality with women and even as a male I prefer to hang round guys who are masculine (not macho) in attitude than metrosexuals or skinny emo kids.

However just acting like a knob, ignoring women and so on, does not make you masculine, before this thread turns into one about jerks/bad boys etc.

Alan Shearer is quite a masculine man, so is Clive Owen and Aragorn in Lord of the Rings.

It sounds to me like you're confusing masculinity with meanness.

You can be masculine, confident and manly without treating people badly.

all feamles are easy targets?!?!?! you havnt shown your gender so possible speak for yourself! or maybe sexist pig! whichever fits
It meant to be a subconcious thing. Ever fallen for someone and had no idea why you found him attractive? I ended up with one such lad for two years. Completly addicted but there was very little that I actualy *liked* about him. Still miss him, even now.

OTT. Fact of life - most women are weaker physicaly than most men. In a fight with a bloke, most women would come away far worse off. Women are, generaly speaking, easy targets. Weigh up the number of women who are beaten by husbands next to the number of husbands beaten by wives.

It's pointless even debating this. Of course women are physically weaker than men and are more easily physically dominated. The problem is that because of this fact, abused husbands are so ashamed of letting it happen that it goes unreported.

Trust me, if I hit you full force you'd at the very least be unconscious, more likely you'd have a concussion.

Women simply can't take hits like men can.
yeh but as youve said you work out, im really not trying to claim that i could take you, or anyone who has much power behind their strikes, but i am probly more able to take it than most of my female friends, and cant definitely deal with the pain of it better. men have heavier hands and are raised in environments which are more demanding. therefore can take more damage and give more, i know this!

Superior strength is a gift which shouldn't be abused. I can't stand bullies.

lol Some wemon can be vicious, they'd claw your eyes out...scratch your neck, kick you in the family jewels, poke you in the eyes and give you a right kicking when you're down....

Just because men are physically stronger, doesn't mean they're a better fighter :P

i think confidence= enough masculinity to win her round. like i don't need to have a brawl with some of my mates to impress girls like some people in my year feel the need to to get girls, but i don't, and i can still impress them.
