Optional Modules, Uni of Southampton

Hi, I don't know if I'm being a massive ditz or this is actually confusing, but I'm having a complete 'mare trying to choose my optional modules. I'm studying BA Spanish and History and I'm just so confused... Also with regards to the optional language modules you can pick, I don't understand their classification concerning previous study/knowledge... the Language Competency Level... If I'm a complete beginner what would my level be? Help! Sorry for rambling - Amy
