No, it's ****. The Union on campus has been given awards in the past (i don't think much of it though) but in town both clubs are **** and the locals are mostly lumpen degenerates.

stirling has very good range of pubs for the city. nicky tams for example on wed, probably a favorite student pub, has regular 'Jam' nights, incase you don't know what that it - it's live music. There are pubs for every taste. The beat can also be decent with the right crowd of mates. Dont go near the yard unless you're with mates. varsity tried to be very student friendly, and with a v card the pints of forsters i think are around the 2 quid benchmark, open till 1 at weekends. admitedly, the club in town, fubar, isnt all that. but if you catch it on the right studet night its only 1.50 per drink and 3 quid entry. weekends are packed with neds.

The Beat is ****e. I'm sorry if that seems harsh, but it's a converted function suite, not that cheap, and the DJ is usually appauling any time I've been.

Fubar had a metal detector and about 6 cops outside it on Saturday night doing weapons searches on the dregs of humaity that go in there, so no thanks on that one.

Bars in town are alright, Varsity is pretty good for cheap booze and has a good atmosphere when you're with mates.
