Actuarial Science or Mathematics Thread!

Hi,
I'm interested in doing either Actuarial Science or a Mathematics degree...
I would like to be an Actuary because it is extremely well paid (in some cases upto 180,000) and also is relatively manageable in terms of working hours and stress. On the other hand I would like to do mathematics because of the wide opportunities available and range of jobs.

If I did an AS degree, would it be best to go to CASS business school or elsewhere. If I did a maths degree I'd be looking to go to somewhere like Oxford/Cambridge/Bath/Warwick, etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
