English Lang Grade Boundaries

Does anyone know what 28 marks on a Controlled Assessment equates to grade wise?
It's AQA but my teacher is useless and won't tell me the grade!! Grrr.

It was the Romeo and Juliet controlled...

The controlled assessments are out of 80 in total, you can't know your grade until you've completed all controlled assessments, and ~72/80 is an A*, so picture it differently - picture it as if you can't drop more than 8 marks, and you've dropped 2, meaning in the two other pieces you can only drop a maximum of 6 marks before you lose an A*.

And your teacher isn't useless, no one knows the 'grade' without the rest of your coursework completed, let alone the fact that grade boundaries change every year.

Do you know if the grade boundaries for English Lang. usually go any higher than that? Or if they have done? I've already lost 2 marks. :/

as far as I know they usually stay around 72/80

Ah okay, thanks. I've only got two more assessments anyway so I'll try not to lose more than 6!

How do you make sure you hit the top bands for the assessments? What exactly are they looking for?
