Has anyone done a lesson on science fiction with primary school children? If so how did you
    approach it?

    Thanks

It's something I used to do a lot of, being an SF nut myself. However
    - what exactly do you mean /on/ sf - what it is, it's history, how to write it ?

That sounds like an interesting lesson. I hope you find the correct approach.

Well the approach might be different with year 1 and year 6, could you be more precise?

In general I would find out what they know first by discussing Sci Fi programs on the TV and the
concepts of Sci Fi which you want to concentrate on, such as time travel or robots.

A penny to a pound they will have watched Futurama which has a representative collection of stock
characters - the mad professor, the time-traveller from our present, the alien and the robot.

Use questions to elicit the characteristics of these stock characters. Pupils could write or draw as
appropriate and they might improvise scenes.

Incidentally is this for a single lesson or for a week's project?
