People think I have learning difficulties

I think that people think I have learning difficulties but I don't, Im just weird, lack social skills and get embarrased easy so appear slow. I look really young for my age as well (about 13 so people say) when im 19 so could this contribute to it? Im only like this with some people I mean friends and most people don't think I have learning difficulties its usually people I fancy or am trying to impress, they admit that im strange (mainly cause I dos tupid things like wear a thin jumper in red hot weather don't ask lol) and Ive noticed they talk to me in a clear way and repeat things. Its my own fault but has anyone else got themselves into a situation like this?

You've just added a condition to the meaning of your thread title.

You've just contradicted your thread title.

That's not a contradiction.

Hey you remind me of me lol. I wear t-shirts in winter and jumpers in summer. I do stupid things in front of my parents just to annoy them lol. I like to entertain people and when it comes to me liking a girl, i normaly make them not like me because i can tend to make fun out of them when in a group lol i dont know why it just comes out of me but really i like them.

People think im stupid because i can act quite unnormal for my age lol but i arent really, i can be shy though. But im very active and once i get to know people i just wanna be out all the time and do things and not sit inside all day but i guess some people dont want to really be near me - my fault there as well - oh well their loss.

It's not your fault, it's just the way you are.

I know exactly how you feel as I can be a bit odd and people often think I have learning difficulties. At school someone asked me how I did in a test and when I said I came top, well they didn't exactly say "Really I thought you were stupid!" but I knew that was what they were thinking.

Anyway I think you should just be yourself and let people get to know you. If you feel like they're talking down to you or they repeat themsevles just calmly let them know that you do understand what they're saying. People will soon realize that you're perfectly intelligent once they know you better.

haha! I had the same deal at GCSE... people missunderstood my strange non-conforming attitude. They thought I was 'simple minded'. They tried putting me in low sets and suggested foundation exams. But I laughed my arse of at them when I got A's!
