I had never had a boyfriend until I was nearly 17 and a half. And I promise you, I think it was worth the wait, because I had first kiss/first date with a guy I really liked and who really liked me and was one of the sweetest guys I've ever met (he's my ex now, but it was still worth it). I used to get the lack of self confidence, but really, the situation may seem despearte now, but I promise you, now you have a pick of 15/16/17 year old guys, immatre ones, remember. When you get a bit older, guys get more mature and sensible, and also you won't be seen as a baby, or jailbait.

i must admit im looking forward to my first date, although im extremely nervous about it :p:

I'm 23 and i haven't had a proper relationship.
I have been intimate with a quite a few guys and i have had an adulterous relationship (on his part) but that doesn't really count as he wasn't exclusively 'mine'.

As a teenager, your surrounded by images of people getting together through tv and the media and so its no surprise u feel jealous bout ur mates. Although i cant really talk, i think its best to try put it out of ur mind and focus on other things. You will probably find that if u put it to one side, u'll meet a perfect guy for you!!! Also think of the heartbreak your friends go through when a relationship collapses - and at 16, they do quite a lot.
The most improtant thing to remember is that you are only 16 with your whole life ahead of you, so dont push your self into something u may one day regret...

i know what youre ssaying, but i know girls who started dating whne theywere 10 :p:

sure it was only touching hands whatever but i mena to be 18 or 16 in the ops case, it really makes you have little self confidence as you feel ignored by the gender youre trying in vain to attract!

I was 16 nearly 17 when I started going out with my first boyfriend. It felt stupidly old at the time, but I'm kind of glad, because we were actually mature enough to have a proper relationship. And its lasted two years so far, so it was worth the wait :smile:

These things happen at different times for different people, so just hang on in there!
And to Unfinished Sympathy - I know I'm not the gender you're trying to attract, :p:

but I looked at your profile, and you're very pretty. I'd look twice, if I was a lad :smile:

When I was 16, I'd never had a boyfriend - unless you count one time snogging behind the shelves of the school library - and it wasn't even nice :p:

There's nothing to worry about. I know it gets a wee bit lonely sometimes, especially when you see other couples. But it'll come - know it sounds patronising, but well... it will !! You're still... well... very young :p:

All I can say is hang in there - it will happen, just not as quickly for you as it has been for others! it sucks majorly when you're the odd one out. But it's nice to be single sometimes.

I didn't have a boyf until I was 18, and that was fine for me. It's nice to have someone to snuggle but don't rush it. You'd rather have someone who likes you for you, rather than the sake of having a gf, so choose wisely and one day you'll meet someone.

Thank your lucky stars you haven't had the privelage of being with the wrong person or being used like most people have had done to them at some point. Don't look for love, it will find you.

All my friends who have had them get paranoid, upset and obsessed, rarely happy. So I think to myself, why would i want that? I'm hardly missing out. Frankly there's too much pressure from 14-17 to get a bf, WHY do you NEED one, how will it enrich your life?! I thoroughly doubt you will go your whole life without ever meeting someone, I'd say wait til uni, a lot of people find partners there. I feel I must resort to the obvious cliche, you'll find someone :biggrin:

my friend got a 10. he looks hawt in a miniskirt with his legs all silky smooth :smile:

it took lots of large men to hold him down for that one and we never managed to get all his leg hair but he agreed he looked good in the end.

i'm 18, and i've never been in a proper relationship (had a 'boyfriend'), but then again i've gotten very close to many guys, it just wasn't meant to be.

yeah i agree, sometimes i want someone to hold etc, but i look at it this way - the longer you wait, the more special your relationship will be.

so many people are in the same boat as you, and then they force themselves to get into a relationship just because it's known as a 'relationship', and some messy stuff happens. most of my friends are taken too, but i'm happy for them, yeah i do envy them but they've waited just as long as i have, and they deserve it.

try not to think too much about it, very rarely do couples at the age of 16 last.. rarely i say, its not impossible (don't get me wrong any long term couples..).

Society of kids now act like you're a freak if you've never been kissed or had a boyfriend, and thats just not the case! When you're 16 you've got all the time ahead of you, I mean its like the Sod's law, if you sit around thinking "oo I can't wait to have a boyfriend" he probably wont discover you. He'll probably meet you when you least expect it!
