Do you know how to go about this? Start with the introduction, outline how Earl Godwine was an obstacle, and then focus on other factors.

Your first paragraph should focus on how Godwine was/was not the greatest obstacle. Mention a few ways in which he was, at the end evaluate your reasons. "Due to this, I believe that Earl Godwine was indeed a great obstacle, however it could be argued that .........was perhaps the greatest obstacle, meaning the title statement is not wholly accurate.

The next few paragraphs should all be based around other factors that challenge the opinion. Again, evaluate their importance. Constantly question your points.

Conclude it with your opinion. "To conclude, I believe that Earl Godwine was/was not Edward the Confessor's greatest obstacle in ruling England. This is because..."
