embarassing problem.. down there

I've had this pretty much for ages but sometimes, especially when it's hot I get sorta "wet" down there (Im a girl by the way), I know it isn't urine! and I always thought it was sweat but recently I've had this weird sort of odor from it like a chlorine smell when I haven't been in a pool in ages! It's like a water discharge type thing and I get really self concious about it, I was thinking of using period pads so it doesn't make my trousers smell of it, but I also want to know what's causing it? I repeat, it isn't urine!

It's either common-or-garden sweat, your natural discharge, or a fungal infection. If it itches, buy some Canesten.

Sounds like discharge. If it has a funny smell or texture then go see a doctor.

It sounds like discharge. There are pads designed for that with odour protection and all sorts. Go to Docs to be sure.

Please note that I have never used said product so cannot say how good they are.
Erm it might be vaginal mucus...Girls get it near their periods or simply discharge. I remember getting that weird liquid and the smell and thinking 'what the hell is that' for months and then lo' and behold I started my period  Sounds to me like it's that, nothing to worry about  Of course if your period doesn't follow, that may be cause for concern and I would advise seeing your GP...Good luck with everything  xxx
I started gettin that this summer. I've been having periods for like, 8 years, so it's not to do with that. But like, when im walkin round i can feel it sorta coming out. Well not sure whether it's normal or not :s

It could be related to hormones if you experience more discharge around the time of your period, also, if you have started taking oral contraceptives they could result in an increased amount.

As for the smell, it could be the signs of a yeast infection, which can be easily treated.

I would recommend wearing cotton underwear and avoiding tight clothing to allow the area to breathe and see if that helps

I did just start taking the pill a few weeks ago and yeah I guess it's connected to that, I started my periods 9 years ago so it can't be that though, although now I think about it this "problem" started around the time I started my periods!

Could well be. Go to GP. The pill isn't wűnderbar for everyone.

So you've had the discharge since you started your periods? It isn't the pill then if it hasn't changed since you started it. It sounds like the normal discharge every woman gets - it's like a self-cleaning mechanism. It'd be weirder if it was completely dry! As long as it doesn't smell really badly or is causing any physical irritation you've nothing to worry about.
