i still cant register online. i think i am going to have to wait until i get there as my finance form says take this to reistration making me think that leicester don't have any fo that they are actually gointo get paid for me to go there.

The finance form always says take this Registration, in red letters at the top.

I don't really get how they're doing this online registering as usually you go to the sports hall and do it and you get given your registration certificate for the year. If it's all done online I don't know what they're doing.
So we dont actually have to take the form with the big red letters in, do we? :confused:
ive got it filed ready to take so i have itif i need it

Right I've finally registered. After figuring out after a week no less! that it was firefox causing the errors. I had to do it in IE.

Glad im not the only one avin problems! seriously needs sorting cos i get outstandin debt message too grr . . . i thought tht th tuition fees were paid directly to the uni :s-smilie:

When I called up the finace company last they said that you should have to take your letter to the university (i think you've got till the 6th to register). So I'm not too sure how this online registration works UNLESS you've paid through a different system. The alternative may be to contact the cashier and tell them about your loan application and the fact that you still have outstanding debts according to the online registration form - maybe they could sort something out?

I was also under the assumption that the tuition fee goes straight to the university, according to the student loans company, it doesnt, it goes at the end of the first term automatically hence why you have to take your letter into uni for registration as proof of your accepted payment.

Argh, its annoying, and I'm stuck in no mans land with a whole lotta other ppl, so hopefully something official will clarify the situation.

i thought it went direct as well that booklet on tuition fees confused me even more cos of dat direct debit/ credit thingy :s-smilie:

yh me too

but i think i understand you only need to worry about paying direct if you are personally paying tuition fees and not thru a loan.

OR

you havent sorted your loans out yet and so you need to personally pay either 1500 or 3000 to the uni. you will of course be reimbursed.

so if you were an early bird with loans i doubt you have anything to worry about
so do i give up trying to register online and wait until i get to leicester when i can show them my finance letter?

I keep getting an error message about there being an outstanding fee payment, and something about the SLC, but I have rang leicester and they have said that they cant see a reason why I can't register online. This is beginning to do my head in now.

aaaargh!

just tried to register online and the finance etc was sorted as i have requested my parents to pay off half my tuition fees for now as my loan wont be sorted yet.

so i was registering and it got to confirming my details and i noticed my ART id was blank coicedentally i received my ART id today so i said the info was incorrect thinking i could alter it. apparently not!

they have now halted me from being allowed to register online and even when i log in again it wont allow me!]

:frown: what am i to do!?

in a situation like that its best to contact the university of leicester chashiers office: [email protected], or phone the uni switchboard and requst to be put through, (0116) 252 2522
alot of things run more smoothly when dealing with people, rather than dealing with a computer!
i faxed my finance uff to them today so hopefuly i will be able to register thursday as they said it would take 2 days to be processed

I know this is off topic but how long did it take to receive whatever it is you're supposed to after you've sent off the signed student loan assessment?
dont know im afraid. was yours means tested dor not?

well it was means tested, but when they means tested it they said that it didnt qualify for means testing so I only ended up with the basic loan in the end which has really annoyed me becuase my rents are hardly supporting me at uni, but hey thats life! lol :p:

I sent off my signed assessment today they'll get it tommorrow, then I guess they send me that confirmantion letter that everyone else has got with the red writing? jus need 2 know how long i have to wait.
