Club Tropicana/Manchester Academy

Ok so club tropicana is apparantly every Tuesday, but does anyone know if the Academy runs something similar on a more regular basis for those of us not into the indie scene.
Club Tropicana btw, is basically an 80's style school disco from what i've heard. Basically i want more cheesy fun parties to go to if anyone knows of some :smile:

Well there's Love Train at the Ritz every Wednesday, from 10pm till 3am. That's chessy stuff but more 70's than 80's. Still a good fun night out though

No pretty much anyone can go who wants to pay the £5 to get in. Not sure if they do discount with NUS since I lost mine as soon as I got it from college =( but even though anyone can go its full of students
