hair on chin ewww

I found a really long hair growing out of my lower chin/neck today. (I'm a girl). I've never noticed anything like that before. I'm 20 by the way. I pulled it out as soon as I found it. Does this mean it's going to grow back? Am i getting hairy?

No idea why it happens... but its only one hair... you're not gonna start growing a beard or anything.

dunno if it will grow back, usually does with normal hair, the time taken depending on how you removed it

I saw a woman in the supermarket the other day with a full on goatee. Easily thicker than i can grow.

Yep- absolutely normal. :smile:

If it bothers you, you can get it bleached; waxed etc. It's pretty much the same deal as with other unwanted hair.

totally normal. Just pluck it out and start again. I do whisker check every month or so, or just do it when you pluck your eyebrows.

I get the same, two. They're always very dark, but - THANK FK!! - are never that long (I always use my trusty pink Tweezermans on them as soon as they appear, or I notice them, whichever comes first).

I also wax my upper lip when it looks particularly horrendous.

I'll be 19 on Friday and I've had this for about a year-18 months :frown:

I have one lonnng dark hair above my left boob. I just pluck it cause it looks bizare, me being blone and all :rolleyes:

I like hairy women..

lol i had one on my side...lol just one long one it was really scary...i got a bit freaked...and pulled it out. *shudders* this was a few weeks ago never noticed it before dunno how long its been there.

a few years back i had one growing out of my forehead (of all places).. i plucked it out and it has never come back.. so yeah.

Long dark hairs are often ones which are growing out of moles, or similar, which is why they're so long and dark, even if the mole isn't always that obvious. It's probably safe to pull them out, but bear in mind that plucking out such hairs can apparently promote cancer.

It's thought that it promotes rapid cell growth (possibly to heal) You will still need a cancerous cell to begin with.
