Depression/anxiety

I'm just posting this to get some advice, recently, in the last couple of months my life has just deteriorated, having relationship troubles with other people trying to interfere with us and split us up and upset me, as well as other problems, and basically i have just been really seriously down and upset. I am constantly paranoid about almost everything and today i had a really bad panic attack, i have a constant horrible feeling in my stomach most of the time and it's just making me feel really ill and down. My friend told me to go to the doctors and that she would come with me but i don't know what to say or what he would do about it? It's a bit scary! Any advice or help is welcome, thanks

try working through your problems, otherwise i dont see why anything will change...without medication (from the doctors like your friend said...they do help though, apparently)... maybe some councilling too

Working in a pharmacy, i would advise you to take some omeprazole. that should reduce the anxiety feeling in your stomach, according to my pharmacist.

Find a friend that you can unburden all the worries to - someone you can just talk at - a problem shared is a problem halfed. As suggested try working through the issues that you have, the things are are not going well in your life.

Best tip for general well being and feeling good -

Think if something thats good in the morning about your life if possible, or just about the world in general. Remeber that good thing when you feel really down during the day and smile about it (the action of smiling actually makes you feel better!). Think about something happy and good last thing at night before you go to sleep and you will help yourself feel better too.

At the end of the day, working through your problesm will help things get better, and it WILL get better, you jut have to get there. Drugs from a doctor (While ive hnever tried them) will just try and make it easier to work through the problem rather than dealing with the problem directly.
Go see a doctor or a professional as soon as possible. Dont be embarassed about it, they are there to help. Depression is a very serious and common thing.

As to what to say? Explain everything thats happened and surely theyll give you some guidance from there.

Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, it basically reduces acid in your stomach. It's usually for things like peptic ulcers.

Self harm is a quick fix.
The depression goes eventually, but the scars remain.
Avoid that.

Bear it, everything gets on the level after a whle.
Avoid medication or doctors AT ALL COSTS, unless things get really life-threatening. The last thing you want on a medical form is a history of depression, it doesn't help at all.
traceless, why do you say that a history of depression isn't good on a medical form?

It's a medical record, only doctors are going to see it, as far as I'm aware.

Exactly! It's this sort of social stigma which stops people getting the help they need.

Even if the patient is not given medication it still goes on their record I think to say they have been diagnosed with depression and are receiving counselling etc.

Your records may be looked at if you apply for a job with vunerable people (ie. training to be a social worker etc) but only with your consent and I don't think depression would be a factor.
