The Student Room Group

Do some poeple make you want to do bad things?

Two days ago a family friends brother in law was killed in a motorcycle accisent. The guy who was killed was married 10 months ago, and has a 9 week old child.

So my brother and this family freind who i will call Andrew are walking though town today, when a group of chavs who are lead by a a guy who i used to go to school with, start chanting and singing songs, making joke about the poor guys death and gererally trying to upset andrew.

As it turned out the man who has dies was attacked by a group of people from the same housing estate, and he was carrying his snooker cue and broke the arm of one of the thugs who were beating the rap out of him. and these jobs in town were looking forward to beating him up for this, and this is why they are now making jokes.

The same guy as i used to go to school with, was intimidating this old guy and pushing this old man and screaming in his face that he wanted cigerettes (i was cycling past on the other side of the road, and was physically intimidated myself).

Inside it makes me so angry to think about it. I could quite happily smash the guy who was leading the chanting and jokes repeatedly in the face breaking every bone in his face. If I feel like this, does this mean that I am a bad person? Is it normal to feel like this?

Sorry about what happened, but definitely normal.

Yeah it's normal, I used to frequently fantasise about violently murdering some people in my High School who did similar things.

Defo normal. But just remember, what seperates us from them is that you can control yourself.

Yeah. Of course. But as bubblebee says, we have some degree of control.

Sorry. Double posted.

Sometimes people infuriate me so much that i would happily commit murder.

What a little group of s**ts. The state this country is coming to disappoints me so much.
Yeah it's entirely normal and understandable. Just remember that you would end up in jail and the thug would be let off.

So sorry to hear this tragic story. I think any right minded person would feel the same way as you but the important thing is not to act on it. As well as getting yourself into trouble you just set yourself up for years of misery yourself at their hands. Anyhow you don't want to stoop down to their level. Just believe in good karma or something - bad things will come to them sooner or later. Most importantly, try not to let them sense any reaction from you towards their attitude. Eventually you may be able to replace your anger with pity.

No, your just like everyone else ignoring them, what would seperate you from everyone else is if you did something about it. Smash the guys face in, do it in front of all his mates, your not different, your just like everyone else.

the thing is these people dont respect the police all they respect is getting a good kicking from someone bigger than them which the ppl who screwed my house will be getting...
I feel exactly the same anger as the OP does. What happened to me in my life may not of been as bad but i'm constantly angered by my past events and we are all human so you're not a bad person imo. Unlike alot of people, i get my revenge. If i've been screwed up as badly as you have then i have and still do get revenge. Bricking windows is 1 way, it's best to do it at 3-4am and make sure you have an alibi. Fighting them in the streets is not a good idea, they will probably have alot of mates and the only way you can beat them like that is if you know more people or respected thugs. It's sad to say, but this is how society is these days. If you plan on getting revenge, make sure you make the limts, don't get carried away and getting caught or do something you regret.

Also, plan when you are calm, planning when you are anger leads you to do things you'll regret. I may sound like a pyscho lol but i'm not, i've bricked a couple windows in my past and fought thugs in the streets. I respect myself for standing up to chavs or even racist goths [yup they seem to hate me because i'm quiet and listen to urban music] -> big generalisation there but some chavs are cool just like goths it's just they seem to cause me trouble. Good luck and i'm sorry for your loss, if you can, try to recover without violence. 2 wrongs don't make a right and step by step i'm doing my best to challenge my anger in sports and other positive stuff.

Actually, I said what seperates apparently good citizens like us, from violent anti-social scum like them... is the ability to control our emotions and act reasonably.

If everyone could control it there would be no serious crime. A crime is a crime no matter who commits it.

It's normal. I used to play "The Revolver Game" in GCSE business where i'd pretend i had 6 bullets and i had to choose which 6 to kill, or alternatively use them all on the same person...

I could never choose.

And who says that internet forums are filled with dysfunctional people who would perpetuate another Comlumbine, given the chance.
